Artisan Intent
My intention when starting this business was to provide high quality workmanship, superb customer service and to have fun doing it. Little of that original intent has changed over the past ten plus years except the level of design and craftsmanship has increased with the passage of time and experience. I am known for telling other carpenters and tradesman that they will be the last person to touch that particular piece of work, so do it right. If a problem occurs down the line, it is corrected.
Customer service ranges from working with a customer to get a building permit or variance, to referring an electrician or other trade the former client may need five years after a project is complete. I work very closely with each client to insure they are receiving the project they bought. Most clients end up having a long relationship with Robert J. LaCivita and repeat business is more common then not. Ninety seven percent of my new work is through customer referrals. I have worked on the same buildings through three different owners at different times.
As for fun, I often say I am blessed because I love what I do. I have been fascinated by all forms of woodworking and building since I was a boy. I knew what I wanted to do at a very young age. I still wake up with the feeling of excitement, because what I do is from the heart. Usually at the end of the day I feel good about what I did that day.
